Welcome to Suncheon Bay which is coming into the spotlight by a natural ecosystem and the winter habitat of international rare birds over the country. Suncheon Bay is representative for the native ecosystem preserved as the original pattern of the disappeared costal mouth.

The Marine Fisheries Department, therefore, named that area as Preserved Swampy Land last Dec. 2000 and managed, joining the International Network for Preserving Cranes 2004. Finally it is registered in Lamsa negotiation as the first domestic coast swampy land Jan. 20, 2006.

In particular, Suncheon Bay is very outstanding of dense reeds, the habitat for a winter of Black Cranes, birds, and tideland. These reeds not only provide the most important shelter and prey but also make a role to clean the nature. The beautiful S shape of Suncheon Bay is known as one of the best 10 sunset from photographers.

The Natural Ecological Park is established from Tourism Belt Development Project on the South Sea, July 2000 and started to manage Nov. 2004. I want Suncheon Bay to be used extensively for natural experience with precious mind.
