Facing the South Sea, Suncheon Bay is greatly exposed to and influenced by this body of water.This creates the experience of an average winter temperature of about 0”ĘC and an average yearly temperature of about 13.9”ĘC, which is a more moderate temperature range than those of other areas on the Korean Peninsula.
This rainfall and a warmer winter temperature create tremendous benefits for, and advances in, cultivation. It also adds to the increase in Gray Mullet, Gizzard Shad and Octopus catches, which in turn adds benefit to the development of the local fishing industry.
