

In 1997 Suncheon City Hall launched the Suncheon Bay Reeds Festival. This festival is held annually during the month of November.
During this 3-day festival visitors can indulge in activities such as feeding the migratory birds, taking ferry boat and motor boat rides on the "S" shape water canal of the Bay, making reed-based artwork, making and flying traditional kites and participating in a writing and sketching competition.

The NAMDO FOOD FESTIVAL is held every October. This festival is held to celebrate the taste and richness of the food of Jeollanamdo Province.
The 6-day festival includes events like: Family picnics, a traditional food tasting experience, a cooking contest, a well-being food-color experience and many more. A National Farmer's Music Festival for university students is also held during this time.
